A captivating species orchid from Andean cloud forests, bearing nodding flowers in rich warm tones of coppery brown and terracotta with a contrasting white, fringed lip — an unusual and elegant combination rarely seen in cultivation.

• Light: Bright indirect light; avoid direct sun. An east-facing window or shaded greenhouse bench is ideal.
• Temperature: Cool to intermediate-growing; thrives between 50–72°F (10–22°C). Cool nights are important to trigger blooming. Avoid prolonged heat above 80°F (27°C).
• Humidity: High humidity preferred, ideally 60–80%. Good air circulation is essential to prevent fungal issues at the leaf base.
• Watering: Water freely during active growth; reduce significantly after pseudobulbs mature and leaves begin to drop. Resume watering when new growth appears.

Additional Notes:

Flowers are produced singly on upright stems emerging from the base of mature pseudobulbs, with broad, cupped tepals in warm coppery-brown and a distinctly fringed white lip. Deciduous in nature — leaf drop during the dry rest period is normal and expected. A rewarding species for cool-growing orchid enthusiasts.
