This miniature, creeping epiphytic species is widely distributed from southern Mexico down to Colombia and Venezuela. It is known for its compact, tufted growth habit, with short stems carrying fleshy leaves. It is appreciated for its long-lasting, contrasting bicolored flowers.
This is a miniature plant, typically forming tufts or creeping mats no more than 4 inches (10 cm) tall. It produces solitary or paired flowers at the stem apex. The waxy flowers are notably large in proportion to the plant's size, about 1 inch (2.5 cm) across, and are very long-lasting.
