Anthurium Short Mariposa

Anthurium Short Mariposa

A captivating velvet-leaved hybrid bred from Anth. breviscapum crossed with Anth. papillilaminum, blending the compact, short-stemmed habit of breviscapum with the bold, bullate leaf texture and deep velvety surface of papillilaminum. The result is a compact yet visually striking collector's aroid with exceptional foliage character.

  • Light: Bright, indirect light; avoid direct sun to protect the velvety leaf surface. Thrives near a filtered window or under grow lights.
  • Temperature: Intermediate to warm growing. 65–80°F (18–27°C); protect from temperatures below 55°F (13°C).
  • Humidity: 70–90%; high humidity is essential. A humidifier is strongly recommended.
  • Watering: Water when the top inch of substrate dries out; ensure excellent drainage. Never allow to sit in standing water.

Additional Notes:

Foliage is compact and deeply velvety, with a bullate, textured surface and prominent venation inherited from its papillilaminum parent. Grow in a chunky aroid mix (bark, perlite, sphagnum moss). Fertilize monthly with a balanced liquid fertilizer during the growing season.
