Aechmea zebrina
Successful cultivation of the striking Aechmea zebrina. Here are some important cultural tips to ensure its thriving growth:
Light: Give bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sun which can burn the leaves.
Temperature: Keep warm at 65-80°F (18-27°C) during the day and 59-68°F (15-20°C) at night. Don't let it get below 50°F (10°C).
Humidity: Needs high humidity (50-70%). Mist regularly or use a humidity tray if indoors.
Watering: Fill the center cup with rainwater or distilled water, keeping it 1/4 full. Keep soil slightly moist but not soggy. Change the water in the cup every few weeks.
Additional Notes:
Is anepiphytic bromeliad, meaning it naturally grows on trees or rocks in its native habitat. It forms a rosette of stiff, arching leaves.
Size: This is a medium-sized bromeliad, with leaves reaching up to 60-90 cm (24-36 inches) in length. The plant can spread up to 60 cm (24 inches) wide.
Flowers: Aechmea zebrina produces a showy inflorescence with bright pink or red bracts and small yellow or white flowers.
This plant exceeded expectation!! It came BEAUTIFULLY and safely packaged. The plant itself is gorgeous!! It came much faster than I thought it would. I’ve had her now about a week and a half and I’ve noticed zero transport shock. I haven’t reported her yet, but I don’t believe she really needs to be. I cannot wait to see her new leaf come out!! And I am about to pick something else out to bring home
I recently ordered a pastazanum philodendron from Ecuageneraus after reading reviews from trusted sources. I have been so happy with my purchase! It’s a beautiful plant. It had new growth as soon as it came. It was shipped to minimize time in transit and arrived very safely wrapped. Here’s a picture with its brand new leaf.
