This plant is highly favored by collectors for its superior foliage. It is a vigorous, tropical climbing aroid and epiphyte native to the rainforests of Central and South America, where it uses trees for support to reach filtered light.
This variety is distinguished from the common M. adansonii by its leaves, which are typically larger, glossier, a deeper dark green, and often have more pronounced, symmetrical fenestrations (holes). As a vining epiphyte, providing a moss pole or trellis will encourage the leaves to mature and maximize their size and fenestration.
