Aliceara Tahoma Glacier

Aliceara Tahoma Glacier

This is a complex intergeneric hybrid (Bratonia Cartagena x Oncidium Alaskan Sunset). This orchid is known for its elegant, star-shaped flowers and is a popular parent in many crosses. Here are some tips for growing it successfully:

  • Light: Bright, indirect light. Filtered sunlight is ideal, as direct sun can scorch the leaves.
  • Temperature: Intermediate to warm temperatures are preferred, with a minimum night temperature of 55°F (13°C) and a maximum day temperature of 90°F (32°C).
  • Humidity: High humidity levels are crucial, ideally between 60% and 80%. Using humidifiers or misting regularly can help maintain these levels.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the potting mix to dry slightly between waterings. Consistent moisture is essential, but avoid waterlogging. A well-draining potting mix is key.

Additional Notes

This hybrid produces large, star-shaped flowers, this are typically white with irregular pink, red, or purplish markings, may also have a spicy fragrance. The plant can produce long, arching stems, each carrying multiple flowers.
