Alocasia reginae, also known as the Queen Alocasia, is a remarkable plant celebrated for its unique and visually striking foliage. This species features broad, robust leaves that are deep green in color with a metallic sheen that can appear almost purple under certain lighting conditions. The leaves are thick and leathery, adorned with prominent veins that add to their textured appearance. Alocasia reginae thrives in a humid, warm environment with indirect, filtered light, mimicking its native tropical habitat. It requires well-draining soil and consistent moisture, though it is important to avoid waterlogging to prevent root issues. This plant is relatively rare and can be a bit more demanding in terms of care compared to more common Alocasias, making it a prized addition for enthusiasts and collectors who are eager to cultivate such a distinctive and majestic species.

I knew nothing about this llant but decided to take a chance and so glad i did.
Nice size, bigger than I expected. Nice root system with a new leaf on the way.
I ordered two Phrag. pearcei and they both arrived in the same box at the same time wrapped similarly. Took them all apart and set them out together with the 3 other orchids I bought with them.
One pearcei has the spike from a previous flower and was the smaller of the two plants, but seems pretty healthy.
The larger one of the two had several dead leaves and developed several more over the next few days. At least half of the leaves developed brown tips and brown patches in the middle of the leaves. I cut off the dead leaves and began spraying with a fungicide. Still more dead leaves and brown leaf tips.
I decided that I should repot it and change out the potting medium. It is now in a slight courser bark, perlite, charcoal mix with some sphagnum moss for added moisture retention. I water with rainwater.
There are still many brown leaf tips but no more added dead leaves, at least for the moment.
So, I am not thrilled and can't guess its long-term prognosis. All the other orchids I ordered show none of the same behavior! No brown leaf tips or dead leaves.
Came with a nice amount of growth points and is living happily in my cabinet
