Anthurium Fantasia de la Luna

Anthurium Fantasia de la Luna

A hybrid between Anth. Andean Moon and Anth. Fantasy with a striking color transformation between growth stages. Young leaves emerge in medium green, then deepen into large, near-black dark velvety bilobed leaves with a wide open "butterfly" silhouette — a form inherited from the Andean Moon lineage that becomes increasingly dramatic as the plant matures.

  • Light: Bright indirect light; avoid direct sun. Thrives near an east- or north-facing window, or under grow lights.
  • Temperature: Intermediate-warm growing — 65°F–82°F (18°C–28°C). Protect from temperatures below 60°F (15°C).
  • Humidity: 70–90%. Use a humidifier or high-humidity enclosure for best results. Avoid dry air from heating or AC vents.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly when the top inch of the substrate feels dry. Use a well-draining, chunky aroid mix. Never let roots sit in standing water.
  • Growth Habit: Upright; produces large bilobed leaves with widely separated upper lobes on prominent burgundy petioles. Benefits from a moss pole or totem as it matures.

Additional Notes:

Mature leaves display a heavily velvety, near-black surface with subtle lighter green primary venation. Deep burgundy-red petioles and a dark copper cataphyll are consistent across all growth stages. The contrast between young and mature leaves is one of the most dramatic features of this hybrid.
