More information

Anthurium pulcachense x Anthurium papillilaminum

Anthurium pulcachense x Anthurium papillilaminum

A hybrid between Anth. pulcachense and Anth. papillilaminum, combining the climbing habit and bullate velvety texture of pulcachense with the broad bilobed form of papillilaminum. Mature leaves display a deep blue-grey velvety surface with pronounced bullate texture and clean cream-white primary venation — while young leaves emerge in medium green, revealing the full depth of color progressively.

  • Light: Bright indirect light; avoid direct sun. Thrives near an east- or north-facing window, or under grow lights.
  • Temperature: Intermediate-warm growing — 65°F–82°F (18°C–28°C). Protect from temperatures below 60°F (15°C).
  • Humidity: 70–90%. Use a humidifier or high-humidity enclosure for best results. Avoid dry air from heating or AC vents.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly when the top inch of the substrate feels dry. Use a well-draining, chunky aroid mix. Never let roots sit in standing water.
  • Growth Habit: Climbing; produces cordiform bilobed leaves on long, slender petioles in an open, spreading arrangement. Requires a moss pole or totem for optimal growth.

Additional Notes:

The bullate texture and blue-grey velvety surface intensify with each mature leaf. Secondary venation is visible in relief across the blade. Minor variation between individuals is expected.
