Goeppertia ecuadoriana

Goeppertia ecuadoriana

A striking species native to Ecuador, prized for its lush, velvety foliage that features an olive-green upper surface with contrasting lighter veins and a deep purple underside. This clump-forming perennial adds a sophisticated, tropical texture to any collection, occasionally producing racemes of tubular flowers that enhance its refined presence.

  • Light: Bright, indirect light; avoid direct sun to preserve the vibrant leaf patterns and prevent foliage scorch.
  • Temperature: 65–82°F (18–28°C); thrives in warm, stable conditions and should be protected from cold drafts.
  • Humedad: 60–85%; consistent, high atmospheric moisture is essential to maintain the health and rich coloration of its broad leaves.
  • Riego: Keep the substrate consistently moist but well-drained, allowing only the top layer to dry slightly between waterings to ensure optimal root health.

Additional Notes

Best cultivated in a well-draining, organic-rich potting mix to support its rhizomatous growth and prevent soil compaction. Ships bare root; upon arrival, rehydrate in a shaded, intermediate-temperature environment before planting in your preferred substrate.
