Hoya lacunosa Silver

Hoya lacunosa Silver

A delightful vining Hoya, the 'Silver' form of H. lacunosa is distinguished by its small, textured leaves with a soft silver-grey sheen and its prolific clusters of tiny, sweetly scented white flowers. Easy to care for and reliably floriferous, it is an ideal choice for hanging baskets, shelves, or cascading from a planter.

  • Light: Bright, indirect light; tolerates some morning direct sun. Adequate light encourages frequent blooming. Avoid harsh midday sun.
  • Temperature: Intermediate to warm growing. 65–82°F (18–28°C); protect from temperatures below 55°F (13°C).
  • Humidity: 50–70%; adaptable to average household humidity, though higher levels promote more vigorous growth.
  • Watering: Allow the substrate to dry out almost completely between waterings; susceptible to root rot if kept too wet. Reduce frequency in winter.

Additional Notes:

Foliage is small and slightly textured on slender, freely branching stems. Fragrance is most noticeable in the evening. Do not remove spent peduncles, as new blooms emerge from the same spurs each season. Grow in a well-draining mix (perlite, bark, and a small amount of potting mix). Fertilize monthly during the growing season.
