Hoya revoluta

Hoya revoluta

Hoya revoluta, commonly known as the Hindu Rope Plant, is a distinctive succulent vine that produces clusters of star-shaped, waxy flowers in shades of pink to deep maroon. This epiphytic species offers spectacular blooms with intense fragrance, making it a prized specimen among Hoya collectors for its exceptional flowering display.

  • Light: Provide bright, indirect light for optimal growth. East or west-facing windows are ideal, though it can tolerate some filtered morning sunlight. Adequate light is essential for flowering.
  • Temperature: Maintain warm temperatures between 18-27°C (65-80°F). Avoid cold drafts and temperatures below 15°C (59°F) which can damage the plant.
  • Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity levels of 50-70%. Use humidity trays or room humidifiers to maintain adequate moisture, especially during dry seasons.
  • Watering: Allow the soil to dry out between waterings. Water thoroughly when the top inch of soil feels dry, typically every 1-2 weeks depending on environmental conditions.

Additional Notes:

Features thick, succulent leaves that are twisted and curled along the stems, creating a characteristic rope-like appearance. The deep green, waxy leaves are densely packed, forming trailing vines perfect for hanging baskets or climbing supports.
