This distinctive, tropical terrestrial herb is a member of the Gesneriad family, currently endemic to the rainforests of Ecuador. Light: Prefers moderate indirect light or dappled shade. It is not tolerant of strong, direct sunlight, which can quickly burn the foliage.

Temperature: Warm growing conditions are necessary. Maintain temperatures in the range of 65-85°F (18-29°C). Protect strictly from cold drafts and temperatures below 55°F (13°C).

Humidity: Extremely high humidity (70% or more). It thrives best in closed environments such as terrariums, vivariums, or sealed display cases.
