Found in Choco', Antioquia and Nariño departments of Colombia and Imbabura province of Ecuador in cloud forests at elevations around 1600 meters as a miniature to small sized, cool growing, caespitose epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped basally by close tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, thinly coriaceous, subspreading,sessile, avate, long mucronate, basally rounded to cuneate leaf that blooms in the fall on recling, arising through a reclining spathe, fascile of single flowered, .4 to .8" [1 to 2 cm] long inflorescence with shorter than the pedicel floral bract.
