Thaumatophyllum xanadu

Formerly classified as Philodendron xanadu, this Brazilian native is one of the most elegant and architectural aroids available for indoor cultivation. Its deeply lobed, glossy dark green leaves radiate symmetrically from a central base, creating a lush, tropical silhouette that suits both modern and classic interiors. Adaptable and relatively easy to grow, it is a favorite among both beginners and seasoned collectors.

• Light: Moderate to bright indirect light; tolerates lower light but produces its most dramatic, deeply lobed foliage in brighter conditions. Avoid direct sun.
• Temperature: Warm-growing; prefers 65–85°F (18–29°C). Protect from temperatures below 55°F (13°C) and cold drafts.
• Humidity: Adapts well to average indoor humidity (40–60%), though higher levels promote lusher growth. Misting or a pebble tray is beneficial in dry environments.
• Watering: Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil dry out. Keep consistently moist but never waterlogged — well-draining soil is essential.
• Growth Habit: Compact and self-heading (non-vining); grows as a dense, bushy clump from the base without needing a moss pole or support. Ideal as a floor plant or large tabletop specimen.
